Our Location : Kota Kinabalu / STAR Marina / Jesselton Point
Raja Laut is located in Kota Kinabalu, and departs from either from Jesselton Point, in the heart of Kota kinabalu city, or STAR Marina at Shangri La's Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa.
Raja Laut is located at Kota Kinabalu, on the north western coast of Borneo. Kota Kinabalu, known as “KK”, is set on the northern end of the island of Borneo in the Malaysian state of Sabah. Cruising from Kota Kinabalu to the islands of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park is just a short sail away.
STAR Marina is a beautiful facility, owned and operated by Shangri-La’s Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa, located just minutes away from Kota Kinabalu city. STAR marina’s reception building is a booking centre and “one-stop-shop” for a wide variety of watersports and nautical activities. Opposite the marina reception is a 60m-long jetty which leads to a pontoon for boat docking. The marina’s broad menu of activities includes day and sunset cruises, deep-sea fishing, private charters as well as a wide variety of motorised and non-motorized watersports activities.
During the colonial period Jesselton Point was the old wharf that served the western trade route of Sabah, then known as Northern Borneo. The old railway service from Beaufort transported their goods to Jesselton (now call Kota Kinabalu) all the way up to the wharf, where ready ships loaded them for trade around Asia. Today, it no longer functions exclusively as a port, but provides boat services for the public and tourists to the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park.
